Use one requirement sheet for both groups
- Name the type of item and the job it needs to do.
- Record the colour, size or dimensions that are essential.
- Compare the relevant records below the lower cap first.
- Check whether a newly visible candidate solves an unresolved requirement.
- Obtain complete quotes for the exact options before choosing.
If no candidate below the lower cap has the information you need, that is a data gap rather than proof that you must spend more. Ask for the missing measurement or pause the choice. A higher price alone does not answer the question.
Keep your reasons alongside the prices
For each candidate, save one reason it fits the brief and one unresolved issue. After checking the destination, update the chosen option and amount rather than silently comparing an old starting price with a new specific variant.
A useful result may be to keep the original cap, increase it for one relevant option, or buy nothing yet. The right answer depends on the need and complete quote, not on how many products the filter reveals.
